Step 6 ~ Week 2

After discovering my sinful habits and attitudes and confessing them,
i am now willing to let God change me.

WE NEED A STRONG CONVICTION TO STOP SINNING
Hebrews 11:1 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

WE ARE NO LONGER POWERLESS OVER LYING
Proverbs 12:19 Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.

WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN
Galatians 5:1 Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.

GOD EMPOWERS US TO OBEY HIM
Exodus 23:22 If you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you.

When we neglect sin in our lives we go into conflict with the world. Sin may feel and seem right for a season. Eventually, however, sin will lead to hurt and pain, spiritual death, and separation from God and all He has prepared for us. Sins’ purpose is to destroy God’s peace and promise in our lives. The way out for us is to trust Him to help us to develop environments and circumstances in our lives that lead to us becoming the people He is calling us to be.
