Living Life Recovery Reflection #249
GOD WILL GUIDE US
I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.
Psalms 16:7
I want to apologise to anyone who has followed this blog for a while for the numerous changes that have happened to the blog over the years.
The reality is as I grow in my spiritual walk with my One True Higher Power I change, and my opinion of what I should be posting and how I should be posting it changes. You see “I try to bless the Lord who guides me.” but because I am human sometimes when He says “WALK” I run and sometimes when He says “TIPTOES” I sprint.
A wise man sat me down early in my recovery and he said to me “do what you have to do and pick up the wounded as you go.” I think that’s how recovery has been for me since I became a Christian in Recovery in 1989. God shows me the next step and I tend to want to go forward faster than I am supposed to. Which results in more changes than is probably necessary to put His plan and purpose to work in my life.
Today I want to encourage anyone who is struggling, as I do sometimes with waiting on God to pay attention to Psalm 16:7 and ‘Let God Guide You.’
An important principle in recovery is realising God is with us all the time and learning to wait on His timing is important.
