If we go through the hard times with Jesus, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with Him! That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in.
MEDITATION
Why do we think we can bargain with God? Secure recovery on our own terms. Everything God does is perfect, His truth, His teaching, His timing, His triumph over evil.
John 1:17 says “This endless knowing and understanding— all this came through Jesus.” Knowledge and understanding of who we are – who God is and where we fit together can only come through Jesus. Psalm25:8 says “God is fair and just; He corrects the misdirected, Sends them in the right direction.” He teaches us where, when, and how to go if we put our trust in Him. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” everything happens when it is meant to happen in God’s timing. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says “Thank God! He continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere.“
HOW CAN ANY OF THIS COMPARE TO THE LIVES WE USED TO LIVE? We now have a Higher power who tells us the truth – teaches us how to fix our broken lives and in His timing helps us to triumph over pasts most of us should have died from.
PRAYER: Just for today God help me to apply Your truth to my life. Teach me the areas that need refining. In Your time, when You think I am ready use me to help others on the road to recovery so they may triumph over their addictions and compulsions and be all that You want them to be,
sharing my experience, strength and hope.
