Ephesians 5:15-21 Watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ. Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another.
MEDITATION
Time is a talent God gives to us. Our time is misused when it is not used according to God’s design. We complain we don’t have enough, usually because we are not using it as we should be. Seeking God’s will is a necessary step to changing our lives. When we know what He wants, yet choose not to do it, we belittle the importance of God in our daily walk. Drunkenness is a sin that leads to more sin. When we are caught up, amidst our addictions and afflictions our hearts are hardened to our families, our work, and our God.
God engages us by asking us to ‘admit to God, ourselves, and another human being.’ to promote His glory and fulfill His commands, according to His purpose.
PRAYER
Lord, just for today I will submit, and commit my will to You. Show me how to make the most of every chance you present to me today, admit when I get it wrong and come to You for the right answers and direction. Guide me today and keep me safe.
