I started drinking at the age of fifteen. I became legally old enough to drink at eighteen. When I turned eighteen people said, “He’s old enough let him drink.”
Because of my addictive personality, mood-altering drugs were not good for me, at any age. Yet once I was legal the world was happy for me to live my life as a drunk.

Prayer: Just for today Lord help me to accept abstinence is my only safe path to recovery.
Legalism is faith gone wrong. It puts the emphasis on doing what you are allowed to do instead of following God. Seeking recovery by doing what you are supposed to do instead of what God guides you to do leads you in circles.
writing a book doesn’t make you an expert any more than reading one does.
Matthew 23:4 “Instead of giving you God’s Law as food and drink by which you can banquet on God, they package it in bundles of rules, loading you down like pack animals. They seem to take pleasure in watching you stagger under these loads, and wouldn’t think of lifting a finger to help.”
