Verse for Today: Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. James 1:17
The Bible often compares goodness with light and evil with darkness:
Light, space, zest— that’s God! So, with him on my side, I’m fearless, afraid of no one and nothing. Psalms 27:1
You’ll have no more need of the sun by day nor the brightness of the moon at night. God will be your eternal light, your God will bathe you in splendor. Your sun will never go down, your moon will never fade. I will be your eternal light. Your days of grieving are over. All your people will live right and well, in permanent possession of the land. They’re the green shoot that I planted, planted with my own hands to display my glory. The runt will become a great tribe, the weakling become a strong nation. I am God. At the right time, I’ll make it happen.” Isaiah 60:19-22
The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one. Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!— came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out. John 1:1-5
God will protect us in times of fear. He has not forgotten us. Fearlessness should be a direct of knowing He has got this! Knowledge of His love for us should be enough in our lives to drive out any doubt and fear we may have. 1 John 4:18 says There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love. Are you still afraid of the recovery process? Do you doubt God loves you?
I have shared before, and share again. The greatest throw-away line in a message I ever heard was T.D. Jakes who said: “What if God wants to do something totally different? and, He wants to do it through you!” ARE YOU READY?
