Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he’s asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things. If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? 1 Peter 3:8-13
We can’t always be exactly in the same mind as other people. But we can have compassion for one another. If we desire to live comfortably or to possess eternal life in heaven, we must learn to control our tongue from wicked, or deceitful words. We must keep far away from evil actions and do what good we can. We must seek peace with everyone. For God, watches over the right-living and takes care of them.
Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ is totally different than just believing in Him. The Bible tells us ‘even the devil believes in Him‘ Step Twelve in the Living Life Recovery Twelve Steps says: Having gone through these steps and discovering the importance of an individual relationship with God through Jesus, I will try to live according to His principles and to lead others to a personal relationship with Him.
The scripture above tells us not only does God approve of right-living. He responds favorably to it.
