Jesus said “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.” That means killing off everything connected with that way of death: doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified. If God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of Him. It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, He’ll do the same thing in you that He did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and He does, as surely as He did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!
MEDITATION
We can’t profess faith in God and keep living the same life we have always led. Jesus said: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” God has a purpose, and there is a purpose to Living Life Recovery. NEWS FLASH – they are the same ‘to introduce the promises of God through the process of recovery and encourage people to examine and implement them at their own pace.’ For too long I have watched people tell others “this is the right and only way to get sober’ Through Living Life Recovery we are not interested in getting sober. We are interested in changed lives and people obeying God’s will for their lives. In 2022 I have developed 7 x 6 weekly series of how I have walked the road to recovery with Christ’s help. Each week will begin with a video presentation, each day a podcast, and a text message based on the ‘Morning Harmony’ and “Discussion Starter’ daily readings of Living Life Recovery.
If you a loved one or a friend are suffering from the negative effects of addiction and compulsion in your lives I encourage you to join me @ArchieBoyle or on my website, Facebook group or page,
