Verse for Today

I run for dear life to God, I’ll never live to regret it. Psalm 71:1

* A life of faith is a constant realization of the presence of God in our lives.
* It is a life of commitment to the will of God.
* It is a life to be taken seriously.

My soul is the part of me that makes me, me. And, so is yours. It is in our souls we need recovery. I have been reading the book ‘YOU HAVE A SOUL’ and doing the ‘SOUL KEEPING’ study by John Ortberg and, I am convinced it is in our soul we need to connect daily with the Holy Spirit and commit our lives to seek and implement God’s will for our lives.

The Life Recovery Bible says:

YOU CANNOT DESTROY YOUR SOUL
“Don’t be afraid of those who can kill only your bodies—but can’t touch your souls! Fear only God who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

WE ARE CALLED TO LOVE GOD WITH OUR WHOLE BEING
Jesus said, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37

The verse above says “I run for dear life to God.” and “I will never regret it.” My life today is totally different than it was. Totally different than I ever expected it to be when I was using and abusing alcohol and drugs. The reason I believe is my soul today is focused on what God wants – not what Archie wants.
