Jesus is the ‘One True Higher Power’ The Lord of every day and we need to recognize Him every day.
WE CAN’T FAKE IT TILL WE MAKE IT.
If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. 1 John 1:6
WE CAN FOOL OURSELVES WE HAVE MADE IT.
If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. 1 John 1:8

RECOVERY REQUIRES COMMITMENT AND REPENTANCE.
If we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. 1 John 1:9
PRAYER: I’ve been out of step with you for a long time, in the wrong since before I was born. What you’re after is the truth from the inside out. Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life. Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean, scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life. Tune me into foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing. Psalm 51:5-8
