DON’T LET EMOTIONS LEAD

HAVING IDENTIFIED THE PEOPLE, I HAVE HARMED, I WILL NOW GO AND MAKE RESTITUTION TO THEM. UNLESS TO DO IS GOING TO CAUSE THEM OR OTHER PAIN OR SUFFERING.

How do you react when people say things you don’t
agree with or like?

Proverbs 25:11 The right word at the right time is like golden apples in silver jewellery.

We need to learn to think before we speak. Doesn’t sound hard bit isn’t always that easy in practice when we allow our emotions to lead our mouth.

I can remember several times during my recovery where I have let my emotions lead my mouth and from experience it’s disastrous. In the process of recovery, we need to learn to take emotional pauses. Times where we just STOP! and take stock of what is going on, how we feel about it and how we should react to it.

I have never had anyone complain to me for saying to them “Can I get back to you on that?”

What The Bible Says

It is far better not to say you’ll do something than to say you will and then not do it. Ecclesiastes 5:5

Fear of man is a dangerous trap, but to trust in God means safety. Proverbs 29:25

Love is invincible facing danger and death. Passion laughs at the terrors of hell. The fire of love stops at nothing— it sweeps everything before it.
Song of Solomon 8:6
