What The Bible Says

God told Moses, “I’m in charge of mercy. I’m in charge of compassion.” Compassion doesn’t originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat but in God’s mercy. Romans 9:15-16

“I can do this on my own!” At some point, we have all said it and believed it. Some people still think ‘good intentions’ are the key to right-living. Others imagine their effort is building a pathway made up of service, family, posy=tion, reputation, good work, and desire. None of these without reaching out to God will earn us His mercy. I heard Pastor Rick Warren say many years ago “If you could do this on your own you would have already done it.” We all need recovery based on a personal, daily relationship with the Holy Spirit.
