CLOUDINESS
READ Luke 9:28-36
Luke 9:34-35 While he was babbling on like this, a light-radiant cloud enveloped them. As they found themselves buried in the cloud, they became deeply aware of God. Then there was a voice out of the cloud: “This is my Son, the Chosen! Listen to him.”
Three of the disciples had an ecstatic experience; a mountain top thrill. Christ was transfigured before them. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. The cloud descended and the supreme moment passed.
So often in our lives we have ‘moments’ Times where everything seems clear to us and all is going well. Then there are our times of ‘cloudiness’ where we have no idea where we are going or how we are going to get there.
We need to understand the times of ‘cloudiness’ in our lives have a purpose. Exodus 40:34-37 The Cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Glory of God filled The Dwelling. Moses couldn’t enter the Tent of Meeting because the Cloud was upon it, and the Glory of God filled The Dwelling. Whenever the Cloud lifted from The Dwelling, the People of Israel set out on their travels, but if the Cloud did not lift, they wouldn’t set out until it did lift. Eventually the cloud will lift and we, like the Israelite’s need to be on our way. Trusting God and following whee He leads us.
What The Bible Says
If you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God, you’ll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over huge obstacles. This mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it will jump. Matthew 21:21
“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.“
Luke 12:29-31
If you’re not sure, if you notice that you are acting in ways inconsistent with what you believe—some days trying to impose your opinions on others, other days just trying to please them—then you know that you’re out of line. If the way you live isn’t consistent with what you believe, then it’s wrong. Romans 14:23
PRAYER Lord in times of cloudiness help me to stay close to You. Show Yourself to me so that I may be equipped when the cloud rises to go where You prompt me to go and do whet You prompt me to do,
