The illusions that capture us are many and varied. Few of us can claim never to have been taken in, conned, bulldozed into believing a lie or falling for a trick. Mirages In the Desert are defined as “an optical phenomenon produced by a stratum of hot air by which the observer sees reflections of water.” Plenty of ‘hot air’ has led to our mistaken ideas and us being drawn by the ‘make-believe’ We are always in the desert when we are captured by false beliefs that often seem like ‘an easier, softer way’ Most of us if we are rigorously honest have tried them and failed.
Psalm 46:4 confidently announces “There is a river that brings joy to the city of God.” Pray, today that God will help you to comprehend His provision. In order that you might know the truth and “the Truth will set you free.”
Prayer: Lord, help me today to know Your truth for my life and not be caught up in the mirages that will bring lead me in the wrong directions.
