Some of the people who have always annoyed me in recovery. Now don’t get me wrong because I have done it. People who get drunk/stoned and turn up to a meeting.
I used to have an alcohol addiction and I used to use a lot of drugs. Both gutter drugs and illicit drugs. I was a top-up drinker so I was drunk most of the time but I always managed to stay sober for the 90 minutes I was in meetings.
You have all heard the saying “ones too many and a thousand isn’t enough.” As a practicing alcoholic I cannot remember an occasion where I had one or two drinks and went home.
