Morning Harmony #57

None of us can escape social responsibility. Charitable generosity is often used as a means to cover-up for our many omissions in the field of practical help and goodwill. The more we study the life and ministry of Jesus the more we will be impressed by His love for all, and compassionate action/ When we ‘make a decision to let God help‘ we enlist as His followers and the same spirit must increasingly take hold of us.

How much we dread the thoughts of past days when we treated others, whilst ‘under the influence’ and assumed an aggressive attitude that often knew no boundaries.

The affect of alcohol and drug-abuse are far reaching, Multitudes of innocent victims suffer enormously because of them. If we caused serious damage, hurt and irreparable harm then we need to continually pray for God’s healing to extend beyond ourselves to those who suffered the consequences of our sinful and selfish behavior.

What The Bible Says

Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand–shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Trivialize even the smallest item in God’s Law and you will only have trivialized yourself. But take it seriously, show the way for others, and you will find honor in the kingdom. Matthew 5:19

“Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” Matthew 5:48

“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others.”
